Andrei, Scott, and Herb at the conclusion of C&B 2011

Andrei, Scott, and Herb at the conclusion of C&B 2011

C++ and Beyond is an intimate, conference-like event built around intensive technical sessions by Scott Meyers, Herb Sutter, and Andrei Alexandrescu.  It’s designed not just to allow these C++ legends to convey practical, insightful information, but also to facilitate the exchange of experiences and insights among the unusually talented developers who take part. Attendance is limited.

C++ and Beyond 2012 will take place August 5-8 in Asheville, North Carolina.  To keep up to date on developments, follow the C&B Blog .

The Speakers

Scott’s, Herb’s, and Andrei’s backgrounds vary, but these proven authors, speakers, and consultants have three things in common. First, they’re interested not just in C++, but in how its power can be applied to real and challenging problems. Second, they have an uncanny ability to explain complex technical material. Most importantly, they know how to create an event worthy of even the most skilled and experienced C++ developers.
  • Scott Meyers wrote the books Effective C++, More Effective C++, and Effective STL. He publishes and maintains annotated training materials dedicated to C++11 and to the use of C++ in embedded systems. His current focus is on techniques for the development of low-latency systems in C++.
  • Herb Sutter wrote four books and hundreds of technical articles on C++ and concurrency. He chairs the ISO C++ standards committee and led or participated in the design of several C++0x features.
  • Andrei Alexandrescu is working in areas as varied as C++, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and design of the D programming language. This work has led to three books (one coauthored with Herb Sutter himself) and numerous other publications.

  1. Robert Myers Says:

I need to install Visual C ++ on a computer that is not online, which means I can’t use the MS exe file to download and install. I to download an install file that has the whole program within it. Can that be done? How?

  2. Debra Says:

Please let me know what the policy/procedure is when an employee is registered for this conference and then needs to be changed to another employee in the meantime before the conference begins?

    Thank you.

    1. Lisa Wells Says:

Hi Debra, it will not be a problem to do substitutions. You can contact me directly and I can handle that for you.
